| Our House in Gourdon |
Our adventure began in 2016 when we started to discuss the possibility of buying a house in France. A friend of ours had previously bought one and had kept a blog. Following that, we did our own research and arrived in France in October 2017 with a short-list of properties to visit. We focused our search on the Lot and Dordogne regions in the south-west. Over a few days, we inspected a number of houses before deciding this one in Gourdon in the Lot was perfect. After a short period of negotiations by email, we agreed on a price and returned to Australia. As a write this first entry (March 2018), we are still waiting to receive the Compris de vente (sales agreement) and to pay our deposit. We have discovered that the process is much slower than in Australia and have learnt to be patient. If all goes well, we will be back in France later this year to collect our keys and begin our adventure.
